In 2009, manager magazin launched the Hall of Fame of German Research. Since then, this initiative has honored scientists every year whose life's work has made an outstanding contribution to the further development of research and thus also made Germany more viable as a business location in international competition. This year, one of these awards went to Prof. Claudia Eckert, Chair of IT Security, CIT Department of Computer Engineering, and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security AISEC. She is considered one of the most important researchers on cyber security.
