Lecturer Award - Electrical and Computer Engineering Teaching Awards
The Electrical Engineering and Information Technology student council awards the annual lecturer prize for the best lecturer and the best teaching assistants. The 2024 prizes will be awarded at the Student Council General Assembly at the beginning of the winter semester 24/25. The winners are:
Best Lecturer
Dr. Thomas Hinterholzer (Professorship High Voltage Engineering and Switchgear Technology) for the lecture "Electrical Power Engineering" (Elektrische Energietechnik)
Best Assistants
Stefan Ritterhoff (Professorship for Coding and Cryptography) and Alex Jäger (Chair of Communications Engineering) for the exercise "communications engineering" (Übung "Nachrichtentechnik")
The Mathematics, Physics, Informatics and Chemistry Student Council (MPIC) presents the TeachInfAwards to lecturers in Informatics and the Golden Compass in Mathematics. The award ceremony took place on June 19, 2024, at the Garnix Open Air on the Garching research campus.
TeachInfAwards - teaching awards in Informatics
In computer science, the best compulsory lecture and the best lecture from the elective area are honored each semester. Particularly pleasing: With the award for the best compulsory course of the summer semester 2023 under the title "Grundlagen: Betriebssysteme und Systemsoftware", Prof. Carsten Trinitis brought one of the so-called "TeachInfAwards" to the Heilbronn campus for the first time. He has represented the Professorship for Computer Architecture and Operating Systems there since September 2021.
The lecture "Datenbanksysteme und moderne CPU-Achitekturen" by Prof. Thomas Neumann, Dr. Philipp Fent and Adrian Riedl received the award for the best elective course in the summer semester 2023. All three are from the Chair for Database Systems.
As the best compulsory course in the winter semester 2023/24, the student council honored "Einführung in die Rechnerarchitektur" by Prof. Robert Wille (Chair for Design Automation), Prof. Martin Schulz (Chair for Computer Architecture and Parallel Systems), Tom Peham, Fariz Huseynli, Dominic Prinz and Jakob Schäffeler.
Prof. Matthias Althoff (Chair for Cyber Physical Systems), Philipp Gassert, Tobias Ladner, Laura Lützow, Lukas Schäfer, Mark Wetzlinger and Lukas Koller were delighted to receive a TeachInfAward in the category "Best elective course in the winter semester 2023/24". They were honored for the lecture “Formal Methods for Cyber-Physical Systems”.
