Prof. Eva Weig and Dr. Ahmed Barakat from the Chair of Nano and Quantum Sensors are investigating how the parametric amplification effect can significantly expand the functionality of sensors. Possible applications include improved location positioning with microelectromechanical sensors like those used in smartphones. [read more]

The US federal agency NIST has announced a competition calling on developers to submit proposals for new, quantum-resistant encryption standards. Antonia Wachter-Zeh, a Professor of Coding and Cryptography, and other researchers at TUM have submitted two proposals to the competition and feel optimistic about their results. [read more]
