C Elective Course Catalog – Support Electives:
A total of 8 credits must be earned from the following elective modules. Credits earned from module examinations taken for the first degree do not count toward the Master’s degree.
Elective Course Catalog – Support Electives
This Elective Course Catalog is supplemented by modules offered by the Language Center at the TUM and the Carl von Linde-Academy, which will be announced on the examination board’s web sites. The examination board will continually update the Elective Course Catalog. Modifications will be made available on the examination board’s web sites at the beginning of the semester.
D Elective Course Catalog – Interdisciplinary Projects:
16 Credits will be earned through an interdisciplinary project, including the required lectures from the field. The project may be based on knowledge acquired from an Applied Informatics field in the Bachelor’s program and forms a bridge between Informatics and that discipline.
Examinations are, as a rule, administered in the form of oral examination, practical application, documentation and presentation. The allocation of credits to lectures and project work as well as the weighting of the grades achieved in the examinations will be determined by the examination board, upon proposal of the supervisor from the Applied Informatics field, in each individual case.
One of the following elective modules amounting to 16 credits each must be completed:
IN2170 | Interdisciplinary project: Mathematics | 16 | *** | *** | D/E |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
IN2171 | Interdisciplinary project: Electrical Engineering | 16 | *** | *** | D/E |
IN2172 | Interdisciplinary project: Medicine | 16 | *** | *** | D/E |
IN2173 | Interdisciplinary project: Mechanical Engineering | 16 | *** | *** | D/E |
IN2174 | Interdisciplinary project: Economics | 16 | *** | *** | D/E |
The examination board may approve interdisciplinary projects in additional fields.
Remarks:
• For examinations that may be administered either in written or oral form (w/o), as a rule only the duration for the written examination is specified. In these cases the duration will be 20 - 30 minutes for oral examinations.
• For all elective modules, the language of instruction may be either German or English. The actual language of instruction will be announced prior to commencement of a course.
• For seminars and practica there will, as a rule, be no written examinations (identified ***). Examinations will be in the form of, for example, presentations and essays. If seminars and practica require additional written examinations, the duration of the examination will be between (credits*15) and (credits*25) minutes, subject to § 12 (7) of the APSO.
