Double Degree Programs in M.Sc. Informatics
Double Degree Programs offer qualified students the opportunity to obtain both the TUM Master's degree in Informatics as well as a foreign Master's degree. The Double Degree Programs of TUM CIT Informatics aim at combining strengths of the individual degree programs of the respective cooperation partners with the M.Sc. in Informatics.
No other degree programs at TUM CIT Informatics are part of the Double Degree Programs, thus only students in M.Sc. Informatics can participate.
- If you did your Bachelor's degree outside of TUM, you can only apply in your second Master's semester as we first need a transcript of records of your first semester at TUM at the time of application.
- We expect a good to a very good Bachelor's degree and corresponding Master's achievements, if already available.
- Double Degrees start in August/September. Exception: University of Queensland, Australia (recommended start: February)
- Planning: Before your stay abroad, practical course, seminar and IDP must have been completed, plus additional credits of your choice (a total of approx. 60 ECTS at TUM). Seminar, practical course and project part of the IDP do not require a written exam during the TUM CIT Informatics examination period and are therefore suitable for the semester directly before your stay abroad.
Study Plan and Recognition
For all Double Degree Programs, simplified recognition of achievements in courses and examinations earned abroad of up to 30 ECTS is possible (even if some agreements specify even more ECTS).
- For internal application at TUM: Study Progess Plan - important overview on complete degree program
- If selected: Study Plan - what should be recognized
- During Master's Thesis: Transfer application for courses from abroad
Die Teilnehmenden absolvieren in der Regel zwei Semester Studium an der TUM (60 ECTS), zwei im Ausland (60 ECTS) und schreiben dann eine gemeinsame Master's Thesis (30 ECTS).
Usually, the participants complete two semesters at TUM (60 ECTS), two semesters abroad (60 ECTS) and then write a joint master's thesis (30 ECTS).
Individual study and transfer plans for all Double Master Degrees can be discussed with Claudia Philipps.
Application
Applications are possible in the 6th Bachelor semester or at the beginning of the 1st Master semester.
Application deadline: mid-January (2025: January 15, 12:00 noon)
